They are hiring managers!
Hey!!! I just wanted to share with my fellow Jobcasers that Family Dollar is having a management hiring event on Wednesday, May 16th from 10am - 7pm at ALL stores! I work at Family Dollar myself so I am happy to help answer questions if I can, but I am NOT a hiring manager or anything like that. I just work as a cashier.
Interviews will be offered right away too! I would come all ready to go by filling out a job application online. Visit the site here https://www.familydollar.com/corporate/careers/storecareers/taleo-store Good luck everyone!

I like it here
My favorite thing about working at Family Dollar has been getting to know the members of my community who come in to shop. I know most by name. We have GREAT customers, the best really! My co-workers are great too. This job has kind of set the bar high for all other retail jobs.

They always seem to be hiring
My boss was awesome, the hours were great at Family Dollar. The job for me was an easy one, no drama which I loved. I just wanted to go to work, do my shift and go home. When I was a waitress I had so much drama but with this job I didn't have to worry about anything. It was professional. They always seem to be hiring too. I know lots of people over here are looking for work. You can apply on their site https://www.familydollar.com/corporate/careers/storecareers

The old ladies were mad at me
I liked my job while I was at Family Dollar, but occasionally customers would get confused when something wasn't a dollar. I made sure everything in our store was tagged or had a sign because as a shopper I HATE not knowing how much something is!! Certain items are not a dollar and the old ladies would get so mad at me sometimes. I can't help but laugh a little now. It's not like I determined the prices, but they just got SO worked up! I calmed them down and many times tried to locate a less pricier item for them. I would show them the original price tag of the item and they would turn to me and say "but that's not a dollar!" Bingo ;)
