Personal hurdles and how to overcome them for job success

I'm starting this group hoping we can all offer one another advice and support. I believe that I have a great work ethic, but these days it seems that charisma and pushiness are what is valued. I'm an introvert, struggling with multitasking and chaotic situations in the workplace. Waiting tables, being n emergency first responder, running for political office are not my fortes. For the past 13 years I've worked in public libraries. For nine of these years I was a Youth Services Librarian (for which I had to earn a master's degree). I have loved being in this compassionate and intellectually stimulating job, but every year the opportunities and job stability get thinner. Finally I have concluded that now that I am without a job I will have to look for another career field. I have strengths: I am detail oriented a d analytical, but public library work may be moving away from these skills.
