So I’ve been a driver for Waste Management for a yearish now and I love it. My coworkers are great, the pay and benefits are good, and the work isn’t too bad. I’ve definitely had worse jobs for less money. A new family just moved into a house on our route and they have a 6 year old girl who LOVES watching us when we come by. She waits by the front door to come out and just waves at us and jumps up and down. It’s adorable. I spoke to her dad for a few and he said she is just fascinated by the truck and the ‘garbage guys’. It put a smile on our face and gives us all something to look forward to!!

It’s nice to see that we have such an impact on her. What stories do you guys have?

Been working for waste management for about a year and it’s great. Yesterday I was on a new route (covering for someone else) and there was a 50” flatscreen out by the bins.. I checked it out and took it home with me. Turns out they just had the contrast setting all the way up. Turned it down and BOOM. perfectly working, free flatscreen television. I can’t believe some of the things that people throw out..

Any other good finds? My sister found a microwave on the way home from work once and used it for years

I have 13 years of equipment operating experience and I am located in Oceanside Ca. Hoping to find a landfill operator position. I have years of expedience and am very proficient on many types of equipment. From bull dozers, front end loaders excavators and a lot more. Is there anything available like that in my area?
