What does it mean when you check your application status and see offer phase ext?
Worked for 35.5 years for USPS proud when I started but as time went on ceased being so proud It became more and more about numbers and less about actually doing what the USPS was designed to be a service organization for the US Citizens! When postal management started getting bonuses on the backs of the workers and being told crack the whip to get better numbers for bigger bonuses I ceased to be proud to work there. Glad I retired in Feb 2016 as my 31 yr old boss forged gps data and was trying to fire me. He said gps said I did something I did not DO!!!!!!
Transfers
Are there any other transfers available other than mutual transfers and reassignments? Why is it so difficult to go to a different state, or get any information. I’ve call union presidents, recruitment members, postmasters for the place I am wanting to transfer and either nobody answers, replies to emails, calls back or will give me any information that could point me in the right direction. Is there any other way before I make a life changing decision? I’ve tried postalmag forums for mutual trades, nobody replies or they are all old. Any other sites or ways/ tips to get me to the place I want to be would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Was hired but let go as a CCA
I was recently hired by the Post office a City Carrier Assistant. I had a week and a half of training, which I was told that was never done in previous years. I trained in a different city because the trainer for my branch was out on leave caring for a sick relative. When I was working at my home station I did not feel I had the proper training. Even though I asked for more training it never happened. So after my first month, I was told I was not cutting it as a carrier and either I resigned or would be fired. Not much of a choice other than I am able to apply for a different job. I was devastated. I am over 60 years old and felt because of my age I was let go. I did not learn as fast as the younger people, however after I was gone four other recently hired workers were let go as well. Is there any way newly hired workers can be given more of a chance and not be treated like they are too stupid to learn how to do the job properly?

Got a birthday card!
On my mail route, I know most of the people on it because Im a rural carrier for the USPS.. two weeks ago was my birthday and I got a card that one of my stops left for me!! They gave me some scratch off tickets and I won 20 bucks from one so it was such a good day. I love this job because of stuff like that. It can be really stressful at times but at the end of the day nice people make it worth it.

Happy to be back
I’m a mailman for the USPS and due to a family emergency I had to take some time off work. On my first day back I ended up running into one of the people on my route and he asked politely what happened. I explained and then had to say goodbye to get back to my route. The very next day he met me out by my truck with a basket full of fruit and gift cards and everything else. I was so taken back by his kindness and thoughtfulness for me and my family.
Thank you if you’ve ever done anything kind for your carrier!!
All these catty whitty PHR SPHR SHRM will cite this process for equity and fairness of going to the AI or ETS before their smiley little faces will even look at your application Then they will say how they picked the best candidate that more closely aligns to fit the needs of the role or say they wish to go with a candidate that better fits the role. Also if they want to be insulting and say Not Selected Rejected Closed or their other EOE EEO punches with hiring they had to post but filled with an internal candidate. Or they looked at your resume or profile and will advise if their are any next steps in the selection process. A lie. They have already moved on
