Almost everyone has had a job that didn't work out. If you haven't then you are lucky. Be truthful on your application, but don't write anything negative about a former employer. Be prepared at the interview to explain the situation and how you have learned from it and moved on. You can turn a negative into a positive by showing you have learned and know how to correct the problem.

August is a great time to start volunteering. The kids are going back to school and it's time to get involved. Learn new skills and receive training.

1. Have a good attitude. Be cheerful and upbeat. Remember you are helping others.
2. Be reliable. Be on-time and be prepared. If you can't come call and let them know.
3. Team Player. When you volunteer be willing to work with others to get the job done. Team Work!
4. Be flexible. You may be needed in another area...try to be open to helping where needed.
5. Invite your friends, family or organization to help. It's always more fun bringing a friend.
