Longer line, shorter wait!

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/23/business/23checkout.html?_r=1&

This article discusses how supermarkets with a single file, “bank-style” line actually have shorter waits than the typical, multiple line style. Whole Foods has tried this out and had great success. Have you ever worked at a place that used the single file line system? In your opinion, was it much more efficient?

http://www.blufftontoday.com/savvy-shopper/2015-06-28/cataldo-dont-ask-cashiers-break-coupon-policy-period#.VbY_lc7htUQ

Many customers often try to get their cashiers to use expired coupons, leaving the cashier in an awkward position. Most store policies will not allow this, but customers often get angry! Have you ever had customers try to make you accept an expired coupon?
