DRESSING FOR SUCCESS...ALL INCLUSIVE

I just want to say: Dressing for Success is not exclusive to the clothes we wear, as a matter of fact, it's more important to be the part. Walk, talk and stand proud even if you are wearing burlap attire. Dressing up is small in retrospect to having and maintaining the correct mindset and the right attitude towards oneself. Always remember when one won't, another will! Never giving up just because an individual "Interviewer" doesn't recognize your Exceptional Skills and Talents.

Walk Away Knowing It is There Lost No Yours!!! It brings to my mind the scene in "Pretty Women" when the store clerk didn't want to wait on Julia Roberts mainly because of what she was wearing. All went to the "One" that did and had no reservations or personal judgment involved, instead picking what was right for her customer!

Always, keep your frame of mind on these such thoughts "I AM THE GREATEST, CREATED BY THE MOST PERFECT DESIGNER", and one person's ignorance will not and can not impede on my success.

Got a new job and moving

I have been stressed lately with craziness. I recently decided to sell my home and move to another state due to several things. So that's what I did and got a different job. I move next week and begin working. A change in scenery is sometimes what we need. Sometimes we have to step out the box. Yes, you will run into some craziness along the way but trust, in the end, it will give you peace. This isn't for everyone.

Tricky situation..advice?!

My friend was in an interview and panicked when they asked about her previous work experience. She has none but she told them that she had worked at multiple other stores similar to the one she was interviewing for. She didn't mean to lie but was so nervous that she accidentally did. Has this ever happened to anyone? What advice should I give her - tell the interviewer or just go with it?? (I am really not sure what to say.) Thanks!!

First Impression

Your first impression is everything when going to a job interview. When I worked as a recruiter I saw many things. I always was happy when people came in dressed in casual attire or a nice pair of slacks if they have them. No one wanted to see your underwear, very not hirable and I have told some to pull their pant up.

Dressing for Success...What It Really Means!

Dressing for Success! All I can say on that matter is do some research and find out what is the atmosphere in which you are applying for employment. Most corporations of today have stepped down slightly from the formal office wear, expecially for women. But some people tend to go to far...and wear things you would wear to a party or a night out. Business casual doesn't mean big platiformed heels, and low cleavage blouses or baggy pants and a dingy shirt or un ironed. Many people are confused by the statement business casual and think it means street wear! Then when they are looked over for that promotion they were waiting for and strongly felt they deserved it....are highly upset and feel non appreciated! Appearance is not everything but in today's society it still counts.

Appropriate attire/intellectual capacity

Sometimes we believe if we dress nice that's the one all be all, while wearing appropriate attire is important and sets the firs impression that people see. Secondly having the capacity to problem solve in real time and not constantly have to be monitored by supervisors or mangers are more important than dress. In closing I would like to say I have met several people who are shells devoid of learning capacity because they chose to fill there time with other things that are inconsequential to there betterment

Great insight!!

This great article was shared with me - it's about what to wear to a Walmart interview. I'd love to hear stories about interviewing for Walmart or companies like Walmart!
