UPS Undercover

Why do you want to work for UPS?
I was just asked this during an interview a few days ago. It's a pretty common question at most job interviews to ask you why you want to work there. Don't say for the benefits. Don't say for the pay. Don't say anything else that doesn't have to do with them. Make it about that company...ALWAYS!! Remember, you need to sound excited about this question and show why you think UPS or anywhere else a great company. Do a little research. Here are some things I said about UPS during my interview.
I said I want to work for an industry leader because UPS is the world’s largest package delivery service. I told em I admire their commitment to helping the environment with their carbon neutral program, (I looked this up) where customers have the option to pay more for their shipments to offset carbon dioxide. I mentioned that with the growing amount of online shopping I felt that UPS is in the right industry for growth and that I enjoy the challenge of working in a fast pace environment.
I will see how it goes, but researching the company has always helped me in the past. Remember people want to you to sell yourself to them and also why you love what they do. It's about them.

Is working for UPS a good idea?
If you want a good career that doesn't require a degree but you are willing to work hard, then being a UPS driver is great. It can have long hours especially around the holidays, but it pays right. Yup, it CAN be physically demanding, but I remembering losing weight when i worked there. I was in awesome shape so that was a perk for me!! It was a good job.

Why I have worked for UPS for 5 years
UPS has been a great experience for me. I have worked here for 5 (almost 6) years now. I started in the crazy time of loading semi's and putting up 1,000 + packages a night. I stuck it out and slowly worked my way up to management.
The benefits are awesome! Better than most full-time jobs even at part-time. I started at $8.50 and now I'm at $15. I expect to get another raise in the next 6 months. But be prepared to work hard while you are there. Once you get into your rhythm, the shift can go by pretty quickly. I really think your job is what you put into it.
