Where Are All Our Members At?

I work as a Retail Security Specialist. I work with a great team and enjoy my position there. It's been about 20 yrs since I worked security in the private sector so Retail Security is a whole new adventure. I was really surprised at how different the regulations are now as well as the procedures and methods Security use compared to my previous experience.

Currently there are a lot of Security positions available in a number of business arenas. I live in the Portland Oregon greater metro area and there are a lot of opportunities to get in to the Security profession. Pay is greater for armed vs unarmed obviously and the hazards of the job are more prevalent now than ever but it's a rewarding career if you've got the common sense and critical thinking skills the job requires.

Remember, skills such as multitasking, working well under pressure, being able to perform your duties without direct supervision, following directions and being able to put bias aside are all skills transferable to a security position.

LOOKING FOR A JOB AS A SURVEILLANCE INVESTIGATOR

i am tired w/online apps and still can't find employment and jumping threw hoops

I just turned 30 years old last month I deployed to Iraq twice when I was younger and last October I graduated from Kaplan University with a BS in International and Comparative Criminal Justice degree. In addition to that I was married to Sierra last July I receive 10% disability from VA but don't have savings and no job at this time my wife collects disability full benefits any advise for what I can do or was anybody else in this situation before ?

i'm a ex-military guy who made screwed up and lost my career in the army but i still have a strong drive to protect others and their belongings but due to my past its really hard for me to get a job in the security industry which i know would be my dream job and give my my sense of purpose back. is there anyone willing to help me by chance??

I've never had a security job but my grandfather and father were both law enforcement officers and I done ride alongs with them all the time. I'm 20 years old and I live in Nowata Oklahoma but would be willing to drive out side of my home town if I can afford to. I would be interested in taking classes to further my education in this field of work.
