I have a Strong work history and a bachelors degree. However I still Feel I am Under qualified for what many are looking for, yet everyone asks for more experience. How you bridge the gap between needing more experience and actually getting the opportunity for more experience.m?

If you are chosen for a position that you feel under qualified for obviously the employer sees something in your level of knowledge, communication and demeanor they like and can work with. Is on the job training available for you to not just sharpen new skills but get a level of confidence about what you feel you are lacking? Remember that when you begin a position at a new employer the playing field is level. You may have done the same job at another company but the expectation and process at the new company will be different and something new to learn. It can be a stressful process to begin something new it can also be paralyzing when you feel overwhelmed or underqualified, so be proactive , ask for clarification on the things you feel underqualified to do and ask for training when possible. The best way to feel less under qualified is to educate yourself to become proficient in the areas you feel you are not comfortable doing or do not understand.

Do you feel under qualified because of professional background or because you don’t meet the job requirements on the job description? Sometimes, more than often today unfortunately, you have to go for the jobs you qualify first then prove you can manage taking on new bigger and better roles once you’re inside. Go for jobs you feel 100% confident about first as give off the right impression during the interview and overall recruiting process without selling yourself short.
