Really, really disgusting and a hazard to one's health.
I started working for a motel in my hometown as the lead Housekeeper). A few days in I noticed that alot of the restrooms in rooms that were being rented had signs of mold. On the ceiling of the shower of course which can be expected of the bathroom isn't properly ventilated. But the day I walked into a room that had been occupied by a couple with an infant, that had been renting that room even before i started working there was the day that I've seen it all. It reeked of urine, mold, and nice droppings. I saw 3 dead mice stuck to a trap, droppings everywhere, and black mold in the adjoining wall from the bedroom to the bathroom. Mold from the ceiling to the floor. The whole inside of the bathroom was 10 times worse. All surfaces were covered In mold.I refused to go back into that room with the proper safety gear and advised the housekeepers to do the sane. The real kicker was when the GM ordered the maintenance man to just paint over it. Wow,!! Needless to say I only worked there for 2 months until I just had to go.

Don't know what to say sorry. Except I'm in a similar situation actively speaking. Lazy housekeepers is what they are with whom I work with. It is not Maintenance's job to paint over the molds it is housekeeping's job to wipe down the walls and not just the shower room walls either if they start to see the mold on the walls forming then that's when they'll have to act on it. Not that hard, but when you work with Indonesians who think they know better and have better and more experience than you in good housekeeping, I told them well you better think again. Glad you left though.

Report that to the DOH.

Use clorox to take it out the mold. Afta u spray go out so that u cannot smell the clorox. And use wet rugs and spray pacific (not too much) and wipe'um the one with mold or scrub'um, or brush'um. I am housekeeping too.

You have left this place already, but you need to contact the department of health regarding this situation.

Its been reported. Ive contacted corporate, and the maintenance guy refused to just paint over it. I did the adult thing and professional thing and spoke with the GM. I was under the impression that it was going to be handled the way it should be.

Why didn't you report the motel to the Board of Health. You sound as if you were concerned about the wellbeing of the patrons, you should have reported this incident immediately, w/o hesitation. Especially for your own safety and that of the other employees. One of your responsiblities to the employees under you and for your own health, is to report this to OSHA. Since you left after 2 months, you could have reported this mess, and not worry about being fired. Just saying!!!!

I'd say you need to contact ,DHEC asap and report the hotel, and probably get yourself checked out with a doctor,. My father ended up in the hospital because of being exposed to black mold while working in a motel as maintenance.
HI, You should tell the management staff there that these days are of summer, and Molds&mops have the season,so only the insecticidal /pestcides drops needed there else not to drop any staff member.
