
Updating on training and new delima with another job offer..........
Hello everyone, It has been another long day. I was suppose to get a call back from the 14 hour tech ordeal with my new job I: am going to refrain now from saying what company it is but those that have been following know. I was suppose to have a call back today at 9 am well I didn't get the call until 9:30 that they needed to reschedule until 10:30 I was fine with such.
I worked again with tech support desk all day trying to get the issue resolved with this scan disk usb drive well we ran into one issue again after another. The issues were very technical come to find out issue one was the scan disk drive never originally loaded all the correct information there were pieces obviously missing is why the boot up of the usb drive was not happening to get into the companies work booth. ok that problem fixed then we had admistrator issues with the log in account. When my pc was reformatted the other night they never put in an admistrator account. Fixed that then we were having connection issues even though I was connected by Ethernet cable so the tech support ran internet connection test etc nd booom the issue I was only having a speed at 33 percent we didn't discover this issue until around 3 pm. So I suggested we stop where were at and I call the cable company being we were getting no where the files we were working with were large and kept getting stuck at 46% we had already wasted an hour an a half waiting for file to download. So I called the internet company and scheduled an appointment and they set my net gear to a channel saying that was part of the issue it was on auto and not a specific channel so I Said fine just send someone tomorrow. The tech support called back and I told him the outcome we tried again to proceed and nothing so we are goin to resume tomorrow at 4 pm est. Meantime I got a call immediately after hanging up with tech support from the cable company that they could come out right then I was relieved and said sure thing. long story short after working with the cable man it was a bad router so now those issues are resolved.
Now a new issue at hand........ I was checking email to see if I had gotten anything from my trainer that I I have been requesting nothing at all still. Well I noticed this email from Sykes and they that I fit for a certain job they had and to follow this link to read up on the job , the requirements etc. I was ecstatic because how things have been going so far with my current situation I was really having second thoughts.
I read the info and this job would be a retail support associate. It pays more and it is more hours. I can make double in a day what I would be making with this company I am training with now. I read the things you have to have this is where things got tricky you have to have a stand alone monitor, a phone with a mute option ,2 different headsets I believe that is it. It gave exact instructions of the tests etc you have to do before the interview and how to turn the screen shots of the pc test in etc.
My issue was the monitor I have a stand alone monitor but wasn't sure how to connect it to a lap top or if that was even possible so I did some research nd it can be done with an adapter so I am going to try to get everything I need and I scheduled this interview for Monday I am off training that day. So far this new company has already blown the other out of the water from just the few things I have received already.
Here is the big issue though the job with Sykes is seasonal and the job :I am training for now is permanent. so what I would love to do is both........... so I am like I said going to go ahead and interview with them Monday at 7 pm and go from there.
I would appreciate thoughts and opinions of what you guys would do.
