terminated back in may
I was told i wasnt needed anymore after working for 5 years at a well known hospital in my area. I was temporary relief. I made a small mistake that my manager fired me. He was overheard saying that he wanted me out because he got into trouble for not doing his job and I was involved. My career as a nuclear medicine technologist is ruined. It is very hard to find a job in my field but now it is worse I tried fighting it with the union but because we are not allowed to pay dues they couldnt help. I even went to the CEO. No help

If you are willing to move, you might get a job in your career area at the Veterans Administration or the Indian Health Service. They are comprised of many hospitals and clinics. You can access thes jobs via the USAJOBS website. Good luck and keep your head up.

You may have to move to another city. I recommend Atlanta. We have great hospitals here and they all are always hiring.

Sometimes when we lose something so dear to us, this opens doors to other strengths we never knew we had. Maybe it's time to step out and do something different. Life has a way of showing us our strength just when we need it. This is not your end, but your beginning. God does not use the educated he uses the uneducated, the lost and thrown away broken people. This way you will never doubt his power. don't no if you are a believer or not, but relying on education can cause you to become handicap to just do what you no. If you trust God, and allow him to show u what u don't no the sky is the limit to what he has. No good thing will he hold from you. His word also says he will be your teacher. Look into what education you have work with children or some type of teaching. You sound like you love helping others. God bless you this too shall pass.

Go to a website call indeed.com and put your resume on it someone will higher you

I went through a similar situation. However I worked for this school system for many years, and was told I was terminated for trying to obtain professional growth. I went back to school for certification and completed. a teacher prep program but was told I missed too many days which lead to termination. They knew my circumstances because I had given them a leave of absence letter.

Hi Lori, Sorry to hear about your situation....I was in a situation like your-self; out of work and just needed an opportunity......I see that you are searching for employment and just need a chance to work and provide for your family. Where are you located? The organization I work for is expanding and is looking for individuals like your-self; motivated and just need an opportunity to better themselves and their families. Robin

Don't worry too much about references. Most HR people can only verify whether or not you were employed with NO additional comments. Also, a large amount of employers now used automated lines like The Work Number to verify employment. This is the only fair way to do the references because listening to someone's opinion on that employee you will sometimes encounter a bias.

Hi Lori I am so sorry but I can so relate it shouldn't be this hard to find a job being an RN for 19 years just because of something somebody said
I know how you feel. Was dismissed in April 2016. Have went though two all day interviews only to be told i'm not the right candidate for the position. So do you find it hard that your experience in the market place has been devalued by 25 or more percent. I have 25 year experience and last position was $104K, now best is $85K with most capping positions at $70K.
