Can't live on minimum wage
I retired from the University of Michigan after 25 years experience. Hospitals will not consider me because I am not certified ASCP. I feel the experience of working in a lab. The only job I can find is a job that pays 8.90/hr. I simply can't survive on this. My last check was for $111 for the week. How do I live on this and pay any bills. What am I supposed to do to live the so called American Dream

Robert, Your experiencing a challenge that many highly educated, trained, and experienced applicants are facing today. Entry level or lower wage jobs are abundant while mid level career opportunities are stagnant. Now it s good time however because employers head out o job fairs during this time of year to recruit recent grads and other professionals in order to take advantage of students entering the labor force. The key os to get in front of recruiters and make your case as the best candidate for the job. Check for job fairs and hiring opportunities in your area and take time to get out to network.
