What to do?

I applied at this job in March 2017, I finally got an email to attend drug testing on may 6,2017. At this event I informed them i would be having major surgery on May 10, 2017. They told me no problem orientation wouldn't be for 3-4 weeks pending the drug test. Well right after I got off the operating table and was coherent enough to check my email,. They wanted me to go to. Orientation that night at 6 pm. I emailed them and told them I couldn't. They emailed me back saying if I didn't attend orientation on the 13th the job offer would be retracted. So I went I again informed the recruiter I was on light duty they told me to take it up with amcare when they came in. So about half way through amcare came in to talk to us. We took a break right after, and I spoke with Jake from amcare he told me to bring the paperwork in on training day on the following Wednesday. So I did they made copies and told me they would get back to me by the end of the day. My restriction was a 10 pound weight limit. Well another week passed and I was placed on a line with all heavy boxes. Well on the 23rd of May. I received a call from the restriction department of the company tell me I wasn't allowed in the building til my restriction were lifted . They were two days later. I tried to return to work but couldn't they deactivated my badge. Well Friday my son was in a mental hospital , his baby's mom, her mother was having emergency surgery for a ruptured bowel and she wanted to be there. She asked if I would take my 1 year old grandson who has to be feed by a feeding tube either by syringe or by pump, 5 times a day each feeding take an hour to an hour and a half for 4.5 once it he throws up everything. He is 1 year and 3 weeks old and just weighs 14 pounds 2 once. He has a bilateral cleft palate and lip. I can't just leave him with anyone, they have to know how to feed him So I ended up calling in Sunday morning I work 5 am to 9 am. I requested several times for HR to call Me I called their direct number several times, to no answer. I got a call tonight they want my sons girlfriends mother medical records , my sons mental records and my grandson's medical records proving tube feeding is necessary or they want to. Terminate me. WHats making me mad is they want to count the days they locked my badge out against me for attendance

Do you really want to work with these people? I would be scared. Stuff happens in people's lives no one has control over. I were you I'd move on.

Honey you need to pray and ask for guidance.Most of the time we as women tend to take on more then what we can handle and we stress our ownselves out.

FMLA is what will protect you here. HIPA makes it illegal for them to request medical document for family members not employed by them. They can ask for a medical profecional to give a note saying per their recommendation a family member must always be present. You get 3 months of FMLA and its unpaid time usually.

Hey Paula, let me give you and everyone an advice, with all due respect. Always make yourselves a goal within a window. In this case, set up a goal to find employment and commit for, lets say 3 months. This means, look at your schedule for 3 months and make sure that nothing is going to get in the way of applying and interviews. In your case, Paula; you knew that you had surgery coming up, and you knew that you were going to be on the disabled list, and for what I read so far, this is a fast passed production company, which require 100%. It's not they're fault. Another advise for all of you, this is the social media era. Check your schedule. If you have anything coming up, make sure to write your superiors an E-mail. This way Its on the record that you notified them with anticipation.
