I decided a few years ago to retire from my Nursing career and become a Minister. After four more years of college, I cannot find an opening in the Ministry, so I decided to go back into nursing. Guess what? no recent experience ( I had 22 years). I now have eight years of college, so I am overqualified to work in fast food or deliver pizza's, but have no experience in either career.

If you need the job, take the part-time and exceed what they expect of you and possibly they will appreciate your experience and make you full time. In the meantime keep looking for a full-time position. God bless.

I have over 23 years experience in data entry and I recently moved to a small town in Texas and all I can get is a part-time minimum wage job. Something is out there and I'm not giving up but it sure is discouraging.

Hi Nora,
I think you should be able to find something that fits! Having 22 years previously is nothing to sneeze at, your only issue is going to be to get familiar with any new equipment or procedures that have come about since you left the field. There is probably going to be some online resources to do so. Additionally, I would strongly recommend reaching out to past coworkers or supervisors and asking them what you need to learn/relearn to show you are still a capable nurse and able to do everything required.
I did a quick search and found these nursing jobs in your area!
If you would like to do your own job search follow these steps:
1. Click on Jobs & Companies at the top of the page, or head over [here] (http://www.jobcase.com/jobs/search)
2. Enter a job into the search field where it says Job Title, Keywords, or Company.
3. Add in your location by filling in your City and State OR zip code. Then click the magnifying glass to search.
4. Once the list is up, click on “View Job" of any you are interested in and then apply.
Good luck with your job search!
