I was happily employed at a great paying job, great bosses in the printing direct mail business. Got laid off, unemployment ran out, got a part-time job as an assistant dispatcher at a freight handling outfit. The fellow who was to train me was so busy that he was unable to take the time to train me. And so, I began sweeping the dock, emptying trash, etc. Then a forklift operator quit & so I asked for this position as I was so dang bored! Presently working part-time still, though I work two separate part-time jobs as a dock worker. One job is all forklift, the second is pallet jack & occasional forklift loading of the freight. I have approximately 4 to 6 hours between each job & am afflicted with sleep apnea. I am constantly stressed out, trying to keep up with my younger & stronger counterparts. So far, no pink slip. Though it seems like a sword dangling from a thread.
