How will working a Driver job help me grow a career?

I am a CDL driver and from my point of view the money is great now the downside is you're not home that much. Yea sure your home on the weekend, or gain 1 day for every week out. But that's not being home. This is a great job if your single or in a long-distance relationship. If you have a family at home then you will need a CDL job that gets you home every night. This can be done but it will take time and long haul experience.

This is a general question. There are two different types of drivers a non CDL and a CDL driver. Depending on the type of job as a driver you work at, if you do a non-cdl driving job then this is not for a career path it is a side job while you work on your career if you get a CDL job then this is a career but there is no potential for moving up just getting better CDL jobs means more money

The more experience you get driving a box truck will help in the long run if your looking to drive a semi 53ft tractor trailer...you need experience b4 a trucking company will give you a job.Im a freight Broker I used to drive long distance with my husband for 18 years....Good luck

to deliver and get more costomer.

company's that pay there employees some company's now ha employees sign on bonuses

First you must change your name. Then ask me.

A career is what you make of it. If you like to drive and you continue to make enough money to support your family then it's a career. Just keep improving, don't get stuck in the company driver rutt, If you like it enough get your own truck and drive as much as what makes you life a good life.

I agree with Mark. A regular driver job is not career. Some CDL jobs are also just driving jobs. It's all it will ever be is a driving job.

Not good
If you are looking into CDL trucks I would suggest it if you are single without kids. It's good money and you get to travel a lot. Downfall is you are hardly ever home.
