I REALLY WANT THIS!
I’ve noticed 2 schools of thought when it comes to following up with a potential employer after an interview. Some people say it’s not a good idea because hiring managers don’t like to be bothered with applicants during the decision process; especially if a decision hasn’t been made. Others say it’s a good idea to check in after a certain grace period after the interview because it shows employers your interest in the job. I had a real good interview with American Airlines for a Passenger Service Agent position on May 6th but I still haven’t heard anything back from the interviewing manager or Human Resources. I already called once and left a message which hasn’t been returned. Should I call back again or sit back, cross my fingers and wait? I'm anxious because this is a dream job opportunity for me. Do hiring decisions for entry level positions usually take this long?

I am also seeking employment & currently having a problem landing a job, based on my back ground. None the less I continue to pursue & also do follow ups, regardless of the rejections I have received. I believe if you really want something or in this case a job bad enough...I would continue to bug them so much that they would get familiar with your name on a first name basis, so that they know understand how serious you are about working for them.

I would say call them back, don't burn up the phone trying to reach them, but a call back to them to followup is a good idea mainly just to let them know that you are still interested in the position. remember ( and I only mention this because some people might forget) this phone call I'd going to be somewhat of an extension of your interview so be polite, choose your words carefully, practice in your head possible answers to questions that you m8ght get asked and also practice what message you might have to leave on the answering machine if you have to leave one. I know sometimes that my responses to questions left on jobcase can be very elementary to some, but as being a hiring manager in the past you would be surprised at some of the followup messages and phone calls I have received in the past, honestly I have had people in the past that were so professional in the interview, but during the followup message or phone call I thought I was talking to a completely different person on the phone..... in some cases the followup was made the difference on hiring them or not. I hope my advice helps you and good luck on your search.

yes a call might let them know you are inerested n the job. yes i would try again say i have left a message be but have not heard back from anybody.

A Thank You email followed by a phone call a week later is more than enough. Hiring can take up to 90 days with most companies. The whole process can take longer if the airline company is doing mass hiring. Give it some more time but also keep looking.
Job well done, I pray that you get your dream job. I as well is trying to get a job being a flight attendant, is there anything you might could tell me to help me apply? I live in Burlington, NC
