4 Steps to a Motivation Makeover

Hello my fellow JobCasers!

Six months ago, I found myself in the position of failing at motivating myself. I decided to get back on track so I could achieve the goals I set out to accomplish. I learned a lot about what it takes to motivate ourselves. Turns out, we all need to "upskill" in this area on an on-going basis!

I wrote about it and mapped out the 4 steps for giving yourself a motivation makeover like mine in an article here: http://www.inc.com/jt-odonnell/4-steps-to-give-yourself-a-motivational-makeover.html

I hope it inspires you re-think your own approaches to motivating yourself to find a new job. Job search isn't easy. It takes a lot of motivation. Fingers crossed my article can help!

Most good jobs today are "hidden" from the average job seeker. You won't find them on job boards. The jobs you want involve making a list of employer you want to work for and then finding people who already work there to talk to. These individuals can give you insider information on what it takes to get hired so you can uncover the opportunities before someone else. Studies consistently show that 80% of all jobs are gotten via referral. So, uncovering those opportunities starts with networking. Hope that helps!
