I had a recruiter call me today about a job I had applied to. She told me if I was interested I would have to 'dumb down' my resume. I had worked for 1 company for 21 years but did such a wide variety of things when she looked at my resume she thought I might get board at the job. My opinion is for an additional $6 an hour above my previous hourly wage, I will be more then willing to do less work. She sent me the job description and I made a second version of my resume. Taking out things that I didn't think would be useful to the position. I had been told by my father in law that at some point I might want to make a second resume that is more directed for certain positions but this was the first time I actually had someone ask for one.
