What to do?

I went to my orientation today, for a cleaning position. I just started a job Wednesday for security at a hotel. I decided to take the cleaning job, instead. Because, the hotel job was only seasonal, which ends the end of this month.

When I went on the interview for the security position, I had no job. So seasonal was good enough for me. Especially, since I've been looking for years, for a job and no luck. I applied to the cleaning position a couple of months before, anyway.

The cleaning position is permanent, full time and have benefits. Better for me. Plus being that I have kids, I need this to survive.

I live with my mom temporary, until next month. Right now, she put them on the daycare van. My hours at the hotel were 7-3. I got home before my kids. I paid my mom for doing this. This cleaning job is from 7-3:30. So with this job, I will not be home before them. My mom has to put them on and take them off. I will get home a few minutes after them. I calculate everything.

The problem is, when I move. I'm not going to have anyone to put them on the van or take them off. My mom don't drive, so she's not going to catch the bus to me, just to do that. I don't drive, so I can't catch the bus to her, then try to get to work. The bus start running anyway, around 5:30. So I can't leave early.

I talked to the director of the daycare, she's giving me a hard time. If I were driving, I can take my kids to daycare myself AND make it to work in time.

I tried looking up other daycares that will open early, so transportation can get them early. But every daycare I run into, say they open at 6am. I tried finding other daycares that open early and stay open late. So I took to CL. I found alot, but they only take kids infant to age 6. My kids are 7 and 10. Also, they don't have transportation. I would have to take them to daycare myself and of course, I can't do that.

I'm really scared of losing this job. It took me 12 years to get this job. My first job, believe or not. I'm not trying to lose it.

Any advice?

Especially if you live in the Richmond, VA area.

What would you do?

If I could I would stay with my mother a little longer until I got settled with this new job at least. Maybe until you save up to drive if possible. There may be someone at the cleaning job that knows someone you can hire for this or have some ideas for you. If not -- Is there someone where you are moving that can put the kids on the van if you pay them like how you paid mom? Around here sometimes a teen will do it before & after school for a few dollars since it's not difficult, they just have to get up a little earlier & it gives them some cash to have.

Yes stay with mom....or u can research a 24 hr daycare. Also for future reference care.com can help if u have the funds. Does your state/ city have crystal stairs ( an organization that will pay for your daycare). Blessings
