is lying neccessary?
So i cant get a job by just filling out anapplication since every place says no experience, they always pick the one with it so do i have to lie?
Also. The assesments that i have to take at walmart/samsclub/burlington/etc. I never seem to pass. It says answer honestly and what i put makes perfect sense! (Ex. If a customer asked me a question and i dont kniw the answer and it isnt my dept then i should go find some1 who does.) And yet i keep failing! Frustrated! And now my family keeps telling me that im useless and cant do anything right! Like.. WTF DO I DO?????

Tevin,
NO....Not only do you not have to lie, I really advise against it. If you lie and you are hired and then they find out you lied, you can be fired for falsifying your application information. My advise is to go to job fairs where you actually meet people and they see and talk to you. Be sure you dress the part. Remember the first impression you want to give is that you are serious and very businesslike. I know the no experience thing is really a hard one to handle. I have been working for 40 years but still remember what it felt like when I was rejected for lack of experience. I just completed some on-line courses and in one of our weekly discussions, the topic was about no experience. One of my classmates related that she had run into a closed door because of lack of experience until she addressed one of the employers with the question of how was she to get experience if no one wanted to hire someone without experience. Mind you she did it in a polite and thoughtful manner showing no frustration or anger. Her result was she was hired and it turned out she was one of the best employees they had ever had. Try your best to talk to someone face to face and not just fill out and leave an application. Play up your good points ie: dependable, good student therefore you learn quickly, always on time, team player, etc. Play down your lack of experience. You can also use volunteer experience you may have. Keep your head up and keep trying. You may have to take a job that doesn't meet up to what you really want just to get some experience and show you have a good work ethic. My first job was at an amusement park as a cashier. While it didn't pay much and seemed to be a nothing job, it was a job, I gained some work experience, and it turned out it was very fun working there. Now I have a background in payroll. There is another idea, try your local hotels, go for the entry level jobs, most hotels will allow you to be transferred or promoted into other jobs in the hotel. That's where I got my start in payroll....I started as a switchboard operator. Plus a great perk of working for a hotel is they usually provide an employee dining room with a free meal while you are at work so you don't have to spend money eating out.
