Beyond upset
Okay so I had an interview at Value Village and it went great and I got the job. I come to the store to start my first day of training and Ugh.. I came in and sat in the break room until a manager was ready which took forever, then clocked in late because no one showed me how to do it, every time I was done with a section of training I had to go out on the floor and look for the manager and she was nowhere to be found every single time, employees laughed at me when I asked where any manager was and got mad at me as well, a customer went off on me after I told her it was my first day and I didnt know what she was asking about and the employees had the audacity to make fun of me for it. And then I had no contact with anyone for almost 2 hours. I was stuck in a small room and never got my break and I had to go to the bathroom really bad. I was so upset I just grabbed my stuff and left a note telling them how uncalled for the attitudes were and how they should've reserved time for me since they knew a week before that I was coming in for training. Then stormed out. Unbelievable and now I have less confidence with the job search.

I feel for you, and you get to be paid less because you're a woman.

u should have spoke with the manager or called the HR department. if u did not get any help with them, then u could have gone to EEOC. I still have 45 days to file a report even though u left. u can also write the BBB in this business. I'm sorry that happened. it was not right. Don't give up on the job market. Also if u want to work for urself. I am an Entrepreneur & work for myself if u r interested 309-291-1542.

don't lose your confidence that just showed you how unprofessional this company is keep trying you will find the right company for you. I went through something just like that and I reported them to the BBB. they called me back but I did not go because they let me know by their action they are not professional and down the road I would have problems like payday ect.!!!!!!!!

You were completely incompetent from the beginning. Watch training videos and sit there...impossible. find a manager/supervisor...nope,you let other employees strike your insecure/paranoid chord so much that you wouldn't come out to use the restroom, yet strangely complained about not being able to talk to those same people for 2 hours. And then like a coward, you wrote a little note out of pure self absorption before you stormed out like an intolerable 5 year old..you should lighten up and focus on what matters

It doesn't sound like a great place to work. One thing they should do is that, when you are new and just being trained, they should be there to help you answer questions, make sure you know about clocking in, etc. As for the break/restroom I would have just gone ahead and gone to use the restroom then tried to find a manager. Its not very professional to laugh at you or not help when you have questions. Tough call in my book as I understand needing a job but also being frustrated to not have the support you need. Don't get discouraged and use it as a learning experience. Most places won't treat you this and will provide guidance to make sure your good at your job.

Did you go to the main boss? You should call corporate and let them know what store and tell them how your experience was with that store. You did what you went there to do,it's on them they lost a good employee. You keep looking and that right job is out there for you.

Confused at which part you're angry about, either way that sounds way 2 much, 4 sure 2 much of a headache, worth dealing with, the job is history, be thankful they showed u earlier i guess and keep it moving

Keep yourhigh and dont them. You know yr better person than them. Their jobs out thete. Just keep plugging on. Just a learn to for the future. I always. Go into to a new job as a quiet petson and. Observe the. people around me. Ask ???? Later.

Good evening
I've been reading jobcasers posts for over a month now and the things I read here are outrageous, but I think this beats the others. What a twats those people at Value Village are.
