When a customer is rude at work you should ask him how you could help him. Find the root of the problem, explain to him what Habitat for Humanity does if it's concerning a price as most everything is donated.
Basically talk to the customer, ask him what you help them with. Try to find out the root of the problem and work with him or her, be patient and positive about the information you're receiving and giving. Come up with a good solution for the rudeness or unhappiness causing the problem and work with a customer because I happy customer is a repeat customer.
