Discrimination
I was offered a job and we got along well at first the employer asked me if I was on disability from the state I had to tell her that I was I wasnt going to lie to her. As soon as she found this out she began telling all management that I told her I was she then began telling all the managers she should not have hired me they began treating me very badly and lying about me. Soon after I was fired and they wrote a list of lies as to why they fired me how can I go about handling this it is really bothering me do you think a discrimination lawyer can do anything for me about this

Yes , he can but its what happen with all disability people in general... People look at us as failiers in life ... The many not all , hate us ... Always lieing about us , its true I've been there and still going through hate , anger ... Don't listen too them , its better too not work for a discriminating company... Make sure work force employment knows about it ... You should get a check , and also report it too Social Security too..

Yes get one a very good one and have all. Of your paper work and copies to and make all copies off of the original papers and. put them up and every word from the begining to when you got fired its discremination case when you were doing interviews please keep your personal and private to yourself only tell them what they only suposs to know not what they want to know not only in interviews but on the work place to use disinformation all the time. you aren't lieing that's basic come insense they will use it against you that's why

Angela: Hi, actually you did not have to tell her. You could have said "I put all my info. On the initial hire paperwork. May I ask why your directing that question to me and not H.R.? Or say to her, " how do you not know that answer?. It could be she is not allowed to have that info., you just assumed management has a right to know, and they do not unless it directly affects your job, you do not have to tell anyone about your disability. You'll have to get proof Of the lies and harassment for court. Your in my prayers.

There are lots of disabled veterans who can still work and get paid. But that isn't the issue. The issue is when on state disability there may be a max payment an employee can work without losing their disability payment. If that is the case, perhaps that is where the employer was looking. If so, the employer needs to make reasonable accommodations for the position. The key is reasonable. An accommodation costing $100,000 is not reasonable. Something to consider. As far as the other story aspects, that possibly can be used as a defense but the key is getting people to testify possible in an at will state.

Actually they had violated the ADA America Disability Act. U have to go down to Human Service first to file papers on that company. If they don't know they will when u file those papers for violating the ADA...that's a federal and state. Believe me they can get can for that.

I've had the same treatment recently. I worked at Sam's club for 2 and a half months. I was told to find a good lawyer. The same thing happened to my daughter. She was with the Walmart fresh market down the street and after 4 months they terminated her. Wasn't until later from her job and mine that they have a done the same thing to several employees. Look into a good lawyer though. Several people I spoke to won.

Yes, Contact Department of Human Resources. Most states have that type of department. Gather all your evidence. Be very specific and detailed, Dates, times, names of witnesses, etc.

If your recieving work related disability in the State of Texas you should let the employee know if its SSI they would still probably need to know. If you are on a 90 day probation they have a right to let you go
You need to know what the laws in your state say about working while you are receiving disability. Many have limits on how many hours you can work or how much you can make. You cannot exceed the limits, which means that you probably cannot work a full time job. If the employer hired you on a full time basis, she has a right to be pissed off, because now she has to hire another person, which will cost her more money, to cover the hours that you cannot work. Try applying for part-time jobs, only. And just commit to being available for the number of hours you are allowed to work. A friend of mine draws $500 a month for a psychological disability. She exceeded her limits on what she is allowed to work for years. Now, she has to pay all that money back to the state. You don't want to do this. Now, on the other hand, you plan on dropping disability, you should drop it first before getting a full time job. Then you won't get in trouble. And you won't have to disclose it to a potential employer.
