Lame excuse
I'm 51 and like many of you on here have been having difficulty getting interviews and job offers despite my years of experience. I went on a job interview 10 days ago and had, what I thought was a very successful interview. I interviewed with 5 people at once and fielded numerous questions from each. The interview lasted close to 90 minutes and at the end the interviewers expressed how impressed they were with my experience and knowledge and said that I was superior to any of the other candidates that they had interviewed for the position. As you can imagine, I felt good about the process and was fairly confident that I would receive an offer. Today I was notified by the recruiter that they made an offer to another candidate. When I asked why they passed on me she told me that....and this is no joke....they did not like the shoes that I was wearing and they felt my nails should have been longer and painted. I was not interviewing at a salon or spa...I interviewed for a Digital Marketing Strategist position....a position that I have 15 years of experience in doing. I am appalled.

Now, that was poor judgement on the interviewer part and not yours. True, every industry has their certain professional standard to be held, but this is no excuse.
Hang in there Stacey .. You would not want to work for a co. that comes up with a BS readon like that .. Better days are coming ...
