Performance Evaluation Preparedness

My year end performance eval is coming up and I need to be well prepared because this one will ultimately determine my bonus. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? I’m in the life insurance sales business if this helps.

I have 2 suggestions.

  1. Be prepared to present your accomplishments - put together all your sales results and any other special recognition from your team, manager, or customers. You may also want to prepare yourself to defend any negative reports as well.
  2. Avoid surprises - this is best done throughout the year but try to schedule a feedback session with your supervisor or immediate leader to identify areas of opportunity and improvement. Evals should be cumulative but it looks like things are different at your company. Hope your bonus it top tier!
