Driver at Ups

Why I have worked for UPS for 5 years

UPS has been a great experience for me. I have worked here for 5 (almost 6) years now. I started in the crazy time of loading semi's and putting up 1,000 + packages a night. I stuck it out and slowly worked my way up to management.

The benefits are awesome! Better than most full-time jobs even at part-time. I started at $8.50 and now I'm at $15. I expect to get another raise in the next 6 months. But be prepared to work hard while you are there. Once you get into your rhythm, the shift can go by pretty quickly. I really think your job is what you put into it.

That's great. My brother in law has worked for them for the last two years and he really likes the benefits too. He does say he comes home exhausted somedays, but I think that's any job but probably depends on the role you take in the company. I think being a driver is tough but he seems to love it. Good luck to you Jamila!

Thank you for sharing this, Jamila. I love what you said about getting into your rhythm. It's super helpful for people interested in a career at UPS and great advice for the general public, too!
