Felons got to live too!

So I've been living in Kearney for about 2 months now and looking for a house. unfortunately I am a convicted felon and absolutely nobody wants to rent to a felon. it's become to the point where I'm actually considering not living in Kearney Nebraska because the judgment and in this town is so ridiculous. one lady actually told me that we can't have those kind of people in our neighborhood because we have kids that live here. wow! I said I'm sorry mam but I have children too. Don't people understand that yes we have made a mistake and yes we do have to live in the consequence of that mistake but we've paid our debt to society and we're trying to live a normal life just like everyone else of course there's those who make it really bad for us. And for those of you who don't agree with me my comment to you is: We are not the mistake we made.

So very true keep your head up get out of here start fresh new beginnings are just that. I got something for you. All that hard work we do. And the mistakes we've made just make us stronger. Dont let anyone judge you. We are good people that made a mistake. It dont define our character. Id rather be a good person in here than a bad person out their. Do you and keep those haters at bay.

True, a second chance is needed. You can check with Hud agencies in your area for help with housing.
