Quality Control Inspector at Bobs Discount Furniture

Based in a fulfilment centre in Bedfordshire, England, I started in 2004 as a picker, rushing about with a sheet of paper, picking mostly books and CD's to a 'library trolley' long before the hand scanners came into the operation. In August 2004 I transferred to a new in-house operation "DVD RENTALS' where we all did 'everything' from receiving new DVD's into stock, putting back returned DVD's, picking and shipping out rental DVD's to customers etc... then I was promoted to Problem Solver in Inbound Operations where I worked from May 2006 until now. I married my US girlfriend in April 2017 and have been on a sabbatical with my Fulfilment Centre (LTN1) since then awaiting clearance by US Immigration to return to work in the US with Amazon. Now that I have that approval, I am dying to get back to work at an FC in 'Chicagoland'. I would recommend Amazon to anyone, it is hard work, but the rewards are more than worth it. Work Hard, Have Fun, Make History as Amazon's own motto says.

Hi Steve Goodings , how are you? Did you start working at the Fulfillment Center in Chicago yet? We we're in Chicagoland a couple of weeks ago co-hosting a Job Fair with the Chicago Urban League. That was lot's of fun. Anyway, just checking in with you. Hope all is well!

Amazon warehouse is indeed toxic and physically demanding unless you’re a part timer. If you’re a full timer then welcome to no life balance! Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed my days in the warehouse but it’s not worth the pay. The highest you can make as a fulfillment associate is 14 or 15 unless you’re a general manager. Any position with amazon is great for you’re rrsume no matter what you do so it’s good to have a good amount of experience with them. Having amazon in you’re resume is definitly solid and great that will land you your dream job at any company. Goodluck!

I am a recent retiree looking for part-time work. I'm in decent shape but heard that working at Amazon could be taxing. Could you explain the physical aspects of the job?

Do you want to work for Legacy Business Development. It's in Houston. It's in Sales. The name of the community is called Greenspoint. Look for a Frey L. Insurance building. Are you English? Use aesthetics. Good luck with that community. Thank You.

Thanks Steve. Sounds like you have had a great experience working for Amazon. Amazon is new to Tucson and I would like to work in the warehouse.
