Does anyone have job advice for a depressed and possibly soon-to-be homeless 20 year old with a thyroid disease?
I like that you want to work and pay your own way, which makes us feel positive and better about ourselves. I own a staffing company in Harvard Sq and we have jobs. Call my Express Employment office at 129 Mt. Auburn St. Our # is (617) 945-9751 to schedule an interview. Tell them Carolyn told you to call. Think about what you can do and what you will not do. We have good jobs available for all skill sets.
Fast food is always good as a "get by" job while you're looking for something your really want to do. Without knowing your qualifications, I'd say that burgers pizza, etc restaurants are a pretty safe bet.Hope this helps
Great suggestion, Irene. Jade, a lot of times there's a link between thyroid disease and depression, so the two problems might be related. I agree with Irene - you should focus on your health first, because it's going to play a huge role in how successful you are at a job. You should also check out this website, because they have help for people who are at risk for becoming homeless: http://www.state.nj.us/humanservices/dfd/programs/ssh/ Hope this helps you out, Jade
Sorry to hear about your health situation and other struggles your dealing with right now. I suggest you try to focus on your health first. Any illness negatively affects how well we function in the world and yours may be at the root cause of your depression. Try to get to a point where you can manage your health then re-start your career search so you won't have to worry about taking additional time off once you begin working. Let me know what kind of a job are you looking for and I'll look around for some leads. Hope this message finds you well.
