Staff Accountant

2 for 1 not always a good deal

In December I left a position I really liked. But after being denied a raise, I decided it would be best to find something else. I felt that I deserved the raise because I continuously took on new responsibilities, helped improved processe and helped other departments streamline their procedures. Meeting all deadlines and working well and colllabratively with othets. Although they agreed that I was doing great in my position being that I don't have any formal education in Accounting, they were not obligated to pay me accordingly. Fast forward to now and they have hired 2 people to handle the workload I handle on my own. Was it really to much to ask for...?

You're absolutely right. I left a job with a similar situation. Was a fitness equipment technician at LA Fitness. They were too cheap to give me a raise so I left. People begging me to come back because the successive string of people they've hired to replace me have failed miserably and the machines in all the clubs I used to take care of are in deplorable shape a year later. Sometimes it's just more beneficial to pay your talent a little extra to stick around than it is to try to replace them with a cheaper model.

Honestly, you will find something better. I know it's frustrating to see a company you previously worked for, hired two people for the workload of one. If they were not willing give you a position that you are qualified and even come to an agreement with you. Then it's not worth it.
