Asessments
If your're hiring & really need people, why does an score on a test even matters. You can't get any good workers worrying about an test score.

I personally hate personality profile tests. I think they are an awful measure. First I do not believe in "always" or "never" there is usually an exception. They do not allow you to justify your answer. This is terrible in my opinion. I also think that they have a big impact on lack of growth and disruption as they are generally looking for clones or sheep. I think that companies that have you take this type of test are very controlling and only want people that agree with them and are not open to learning new things or ideas.

These tests are meant to determine if you fit into the company idea of the "right" employee. I used answer the test questions as "honestly" as possible until a job coach told me to answer questions with the answer the company wants. She said if I really wanted a job, then think as an employer when answering these questions. Good luck!

I have to add that I would think instead of testing having a general comfortable conversation would give a more clear idea of who a person is and how they represent themselves and how they either answer questions or avoid them. Facial expressions and just an overall feeling should tell an employer a lot more than some test scores.

These are all great answers, but for myself, it has been costly. I struggled through school and studied harder than all to get the grades I achieved. It wasn't from not knowing the answers or not paying attention I understood and was learning but when test time came, completely blank. I started Ivy Tech and a wonderful teacher realized it and it was an extreme relief. I was only failing my test and almost every answer was wrong. He put me in a room to myself and not only was I finished quickly I earned 98% or better on after. I believe on any job you are hired for you should have some knowledge to start with of course, but if were me would train them the way I would want anyway and most have a probation period so wouldn't that be the time to be testing, hands-on?

A test score can reveal a lot of things. Can you read, think critically, work under pressure. It assesses your overall knowledge and gives your potential employer an indication of your level of knowledge, insight into whether you were honest on your application. It doesn't reveal all the answers or guarantee a good employee. But the more information you have the better your chance of success.

The test is to weed out the good from the bad. It is standard theses days. If you didn't do well the first time ask if you could please have a retake. Good luck, Lisa Renwick.

Because in some cases, having a bad worker is worse than having no workers at all. Testing is done to confirm you are qualified for the position at hand. If you can't do basic math, for example, and you are a cashier, you aren't qualified for the job, and it typically won't show until your register comes up short or over a few times.
Ms. Braggs take it easy. That test was a way to weed out the people who have a chance vs a waste of the company time. I need to know that I'm hiring the best nurse. Not the I think that I want to be a nurse. Sounds unfair, but a needful tool to test. I've seen military officers pass the test and still get courts marshal or dishonorable discharge. Just study, prepare, and pass. You'll be fine and I promise you that.
