Laid off after 12 days with no explanation

I am in the high tech industry and recently moved to Washington state. Job market is good here for my field.i started working as a contract for a large well known corporation early this year, it was supposed to be a 18 month contract. After 4.5 month they told me that there is a budget cut and I have another 6 weeks with them. So I started looking for job very hard and finally found a job in another team in the same company. (Since I like the company, I turned down another offer with higher pay)I had Togo through interviews and all other hiring process. Training was minimal, my supervisor didn't spend that much time with me , i was in the process of getting acces to the network and learn about the tools. On the 3rd week, she broke her leg and didn't come to work, I was struggling to learn, there were no resources, no one to train me, I was going around and ask others.. Now I had to work with the manger who is not the nicest person... Something that I found out about the manager was that . She laid off a team of 5 of vendors right before I come on board!!!! She was mean, pushy, and make everyone unhappy and nervous. In every meeting we had, there was a guy who was about to cry because of her being so mean and rude to him. Any way on the 12rh day the manager told me this is not working out and we have a certain expectations, didn't tell me anything else!!! She took me to the desk and took me out of the building. I am emotionally drained, I have anxiety, I think about the other job that I didn't accept. I hate that corporates have these rules about vendors, they treat them like slaves and lay us off so easily. So far I haven't found any rules to protect vendors. I need some input from you, please share your thoughts about this.

Independent Contractor

If the state you live in is a "at will" state, they don't have to give an explanation to why they laid an employee off nor does an employee have to give an explanation to why he/she resigned. If the lay off was illegal, then you should consult an attorney, example, the employer laid Mr. B off because he was inquiring about other positions within the company... Illegal!!! Employers have to state and federal laws regarding lay offs.

Whelp, u lasted as long as u could and evidently u r pretty intelligent cuz u barely had training and still lasted long enough to learn and glean. To be honest with u the first day I met the female manager ( she's kinda my Sheri(POWER) and she can make a man SHUTTER, yet I'm sorry what she did to you) I would've been looking for another job that very day! Dont allow ppl like her chew u up and spit u out like gum! Ive had women try to treat me like that cuz I'm such the Duracell battery that lasts and lasts till they ended up crying with exhaustion needing juice for dehydration ( lol). But see I was better than they thought I was cuz I honed my skills so by the time they were able to get rid of me the assignment was over( independent contractor). Some managers truly do t know what they r doing and some don't know talent if it perfectly danced infront of their eyes! Be creative and innovative along your journey so that one day u can be your own boss! I'm confident in Christ that with the skills youve been blessed with that u will obtain employment soon enough!
