Good to have you with us bro. Every day i read on this sight people saying i'm 40 something or 50 something or 60 something and i"m at the age where this is hard or i cant do this or that. I myself have made the mistake of saying these types of things. However when i was in my 20s and 30s it was the 40 and 50 and 60 year olds that i looked to to see how they were handling the b.s. that whatever job i was at was dishing out. As a young parent teaches their child to walk and talk, so it our job as seasoned adults to teach the young adults to not make excuses, to not give up to stay positive through adversity. It's not what someone does to you that defines who you are, it's how you overcome no matter what is done to you. Younger generations are watching how you react whether you know it or not. By showing them what you are truely made of, you show them what they can truely accomplish if you don't make excuses and don't give up. Be a good example for the next generation if you want the next generation to be better than todays. God bless you brother.

Age shouldn't be a factor...as you well know age discrimination is illegal. That being said, only apply to jobs that will accept your resume or your LI profile. If a company wants you to fill out an application...that is a business you don't want to work for. Job applications are for starter roles and they have not been required for professionals since the late 1980's. Also if you are asked for a college or high school graduation date, give them the month and day only. It is what it is, you just have to learn to play the game better than the HR folks and recruiters do. One final suggestion, provide a 10 year job history only. Get rid of anything prior to 2000.
