Frustrated

I left my job exactly 1 month ago. I participated in the company's 401k plan. I called the benefits department last week and asked them to send me the money since I am no longer with the company. The woman told me they never got the termination letter from Human Resources. So I called the store, and spoke to the HE guy and he said he will do it. Well as of today 3/1 it was not done! I can not believe that HE never terminated me in the computer . I have been gone a month! I am going to the store (BJS) where I worked and talk to the HE person face to face. This is such incompetent.

When you say “send me my money” are you cashing out of the 401k? If so you will be heavily taxed on the money because of early withdrawal. I left my last job with a 401k and I just left it in the bank that oversees it, when my new 401k starts I’m just going to roll it over. I’m pretty sure that if you’re vested, you don’t need permission to access the money.

Your not gonna be happy when you finally get your money cuz 401 is gonna take some, which is messed up. We put money into it and now there gonna take some. Is BS!

Good Luck ! Hope you get everything settled, it can be fustrating sometimes when people don't do what they're suppose to. I worked for a company that did the same thing to me didn't terminate me when I left but I ended up going back for almost a year more.

some interviewers actually ask that very question during the interview. just be honest, but ALSO let them know you are willing to work for whatever they're offering. Some companies promote pay based on experience.

Hey, am I allowed to say that I want to make a certain amount when applying and being interviewed, or would I be better off taking something part time just to get in the door, I know what I need to make but they won't care

Oh my goodness! Good luck. You should get a letter stating your start and end dates of Services on company letterhead. I requested that when I resigned
