Network Administrator at Nlight Inc

Psssht. That's BS. I have an associate's degree in computer science, and I'm a convicted felon..and I've worked my way up to Network Administrator....soooooooo I know you can do better...unless you're conviction has something to do with Murder....or Fraud...then I'm not buying it

It would be awesome if you could go into high schools and tell kids what you did, what the ramifications of it were and how you’re having a hard time finding any job because of it you could be a mentor and motivational speaker and keep others from getting in trouble.

Make your own chance(s)! Check with community-based and/or non-profits in your area. You might even have to do some volunteer work. I'm sure you realize by now that your degree isn't going to help you at this point. First you have to shiw who you really are, then hopefully, your degree can carry you the rest of the way.

Not true. Gotta network with who you know. You have the degree but you seem to lack heart..... dont give up!! Network, network, network. All you need is one chance to get your foot in the door and they'll fall in love with you! My brother has a record and no college education but he knew getting into a union job would be best for him. So he applied for waste management in orange county. Tuesdays was their interview, hiring day or whatever... he'd call every Tuesday and every tuesday for about 3 months i think maybe longer, he called and they turned him down. But finally with perseverance he wore 'em down and they gave him a chance. But that wasn't the end of it, because i guess they thought they would weed him out and break his spirits by treating him like shit! My brother knew that after 3 months of training and 3 months of legit on the job hours you advanced.... 2 years had come and gone and other associates had join the team and passed up my brother. My brother never lost stride but kept his head, was grateful and continued to work hard. Finally he took it up to management above his supervisor and they looked into it and found there was a bad apple intentionally over looking my brother because he felt it was unfair how my brother got on with the company. That bad apple is no longer there and 11 years later my brothers running the show! Be inspired! Dont lose heart! The right job is out there, it's just waiting for you!

Just keep doing the right thing. Just you, yourself are an amazing person. Don't allow, the system or weak people change you. Something great will come soon. Like the post earlier, " Keep the Faith" ... And great things will happen.
