Feeling the job search pain.

I have been in the Wholesale Industrial Supply and service business for about 20 years . I am feeling the pain of a lot of experienced displaced workers. We have the experience but can't find work in your chosen fields. It seems to me that many businesses and companies love the experience but don't seem to want to want to pay for it. "Over Qualified"? It seems to be a sign of the times. Trying to stay positive and looking for that window of opportunity to open.

It’s a catch 22. You spend 20+ years working in the same industry with the same employer and accumulate enough experience can salary increases that make should make you a valuable resource in the marketplace. But lose that job and all of a sudden you’re subjected to this skilled and experienced resource every employer dreams of but no one wants to pay their worth. Starting over that late in one’s career is not easy but necessary. Don’t just jump into any job. Do your research and try to get your foot in the door in a company with career advancement opportunities, prove your worth, then start pursuing the bigger, better job opportunities from within.
