Tired and confused!!!!!

I am currently a store manager at a Subway since Oct 2016. I was offered this position by the owner of the chain. I was given a store which needed a lot of help when I arrived. It was not passing Subway inspections but was passing state health (barely). I came into the store and turned it around. We began passing inspections and sales came up as well as customer counts. The owner started expecting me to run paperwork as a 5 yr veteran of the job in 3 months. He said he was bringing in another manager to " retrain me" but hasn't had me on schedule for 2 weeks. My staff is still calling and texting me because the store us in an uproar and chaotic. It feels as though he has suspended me for not having the paperwork correct the way he wants it though it was being done. How am I supposed to learn his ways and be re trained if the owner won't put me on scheduke, answer my calls, or be direct with me? I can't surely become better if they don't let me try. I have always been an assistant manager at each store I worked at and this is the 4th franchisee I have worked for so each owner is different. I have the ordering, inventory, scheduling, customers, and sales all in order...... How can I get the point across that I can't learn if he won't schedule me. He wanted to mail me my current check which is what he does to people he lets go but the manager who came to train me says I'm supposed to be put back on tomorrow though in the owners text he said he was sorting through some stuff and would let me know in a few days...... So which is it ? So many inconsistencies and I am the only one working trying to support my family..... Any advice would surely help. Thanks

Chelle, There are always people who will take advantage of you. After reading your post it is clear that you are capable and skilled in your job. Your owner is a foolish person. Don't waste your time on an employer that isn't smart enough to recognize your worth and how your work ethic turned his business around. If he's not willing to give you hours and time to learn the specific skills needed to continue to make that store successful, he doesn't deserve you or to have a successful business. Why should you agonize over him and his business. You'll find another position and prayerfully, it will be with a business that values you and what you bring to the business. Know your worth and what that entails. Move on Honey. Life is too short to be confused about nonsense. Peace and Blessings !!!

Try talking to your employees about managing and micromanage so you don't have to be so worried and upset. No joke or lie. Tell boss how you feel with what's going on and do your best to keep that job.

If you're not being paid, you should feel free to look for another job in the meantime.

I know it's not right ... You are working very hard and doing your best. You don't deserve to have it thrown back in your face . I would feel tired and confused also. Start stacking your ducks in order ... Start getting other opportunities lined up... When you have a few positive back ups , start laying down the rules. Tell him how you feel and that this is just not working for you ... Lay your needs out there on the table... They don't mind doing this with you .. It goes both ways and you both need to be on the same page ... If he can not respect your terms then you must simply buy a new loaf of bread. Your bread pays the bills .. If it's full of mold, throw it out ... You deserve your sanity and peace ... We will always have some level of stress in our lives and on the job.. You have to ask yourself , is this amount of stress even worth it ...

Keep this in mind mamangers fire people, offer eairly retirement, and sone times help ther employees find other jobs. They do all this to let people go. Maybe he is trying to gain your trust so that he can be your mentor wich will lead to him helpng you find a job who knows.

Look for another job before you are terminated is best for two reasons: it is easier to find a job when you already have one and you deserve better treatment than you are receiving.

It is not you, working for a franchise owner is always a challenge. I would move forward and use your experience elsewhere...call the owner or the person that hired you and ask for a reference.
