Counselor, MA

What do I need to do to get counseling type positions or advocate positions?

I have a MA in Counseling from Marshall University and have held various positions throughout my career that has allowed me to work with the legal sytem both with offenders and victims. I am not sure what else I can do to help me achieve employment.

Since you have already worked with victims, have you looked at working as an advocate for a local women's shelter, or sexual assault center or State's attorneys office. I would recommend continuing education in the field of Alcohol and Drug abuse as that will only make you more marketable.

If your background is clean you can almost certainly get a job with Veteran's Administration working in mental health. You could even apply to your local and state government. Excellent job security.
