What do I need to do to get counseling type positions or advocate positions?
I have a MA in Counseling from Marshall University and have held various positions throughout my career that has allowed me to work with the legal sytem both with offenders and victims. I am not sure what else I can do to help me achieve employment.

Since you have already worked with victims, have you looked at working as an advocate for a local women's shelter, or sexual assault center or State's attorneys office. I would recommend continuing education in the field of Alcohol and Drug abuse as that will only make you more marketable.

If your background is clean you can almost certainly get a job with Veteran's Administration working in mental health. You could even apply to your local and state government. Excellent job security.

Also might want to check into anyplace where children go to counciling or organizations that are close by you

Hi Kimberly: Since it seems you like helping people, look into substance abuse counselor, mental health counselor, community counselor, or other areas in healthcare. Check out this link with counselor jobs in your area http://bit.ly/1USUP2w
