Overqualified? Not getting any jobs.

I've been searching for about a year now (unemployed for the last 6 months). I made decent money as a supervisor, but have a very strong hands on technical background in manufacturing and maintenance. Since I was laid off 6 months ago, I've sent out countless resumes, had a number of interviews but no luck. Now my unemployment is running out, I've been applying to pretty much anything just to get something to keep money coming in. Applying at convenience stores, big box stores, supermarkets, gas stations, etc. And I'm not hearing back from any of them. I'm filling out the applications online and when it comes to experience, I put down all my previous experience the same as I would for any other position I was applying for. But I'm wondering if these places are looking at that and saying I'm over qualified and passing on me. Could this be the case? I don't want to come off as egotistical or anything like that - I'll take whatever I can get, but I'm getting extremely frustrated because I haven't found anything. And even the convenience stores, big box stores, etc., aren't responding. What am I doing wrong? I even signed up to drive for Uber, and went out days and nights and didn't get one customer. This is so frustrating. From what I described, am I doing something wrong? Any advice would help. Thank you in advance. And sorry this was such a long post.

Hi John: Thanks for posting to Jobcase! No need to apologize for the post - I'm sorry to hear you've been having difficulties in your hunt for employment. I think you're starting to descend down a bad path, where you're applying for anything because you're starting to get scared. It may be tempting, but don't go that way - you'll get stuck in a career path that will end up undermining you for years to come. Keep on applying for supervisory positions in your industry. Focus on improving your interviews - it seems like your resume is great, but for some reason, you're not acing those interviews. Is there any possible way you can follow up with employers to see if they have any feedback for you?
