So I have been looking for a new job for a year after working at the same place for 11 years. I finally got a job, I thought. I was told I was hired, I signed all the paperwork and they collected everything they needed. I worked yesterday and the female boss said 'I'll call you if we need you' (I already knew I'd be on call but the male boss said to come in). I came in today and the female boss left the office when I came in and stood talking to another boss for 10 minutes before saying she 'forgot to call me.' I signed in and went to work. After 35 minutes of working she came into the room I was cleaning (I'm a housekeeper) and said the beds were wrong. I didn't actually make the bed she was mad about the housekeeper working with me did but she pretended that I had made the bed wrong. Then after a scolding about how I did it wrong the boss left. 25 minutes later I had gotten done plunging a toilet and was about to clean the bathroom (i had already started but wanted to redo it) when the other housekeeper comes in and says I'm doing it wrong and does it herself. The boss comes in again and asks if I'm capable of doing the job at all. Which was extremely frustrating. After 4 hours of cleaning and folding pillowcases I go to check out and the woman says "the boss will call you tomorrow if we want to keep you. We have other people to interview and you're on hold. He'll call you tomorrow." WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? I just worked 10 hours for nothing? I signed all the paperwork they said I had the job, the male boss was fine with me the other housekeepers (I assume) are fine with me, one does way worse than I do and I'm not only not working for money but I'm fired??? What? ???
