Marriott Painter

Like so many others I have seen and applied to jobs in various cities for jobs at a Marriott Inn. When I go to that company web site there is no mention of them hiring painters. I keep seeing these ads for the Phila. and St. Petersburg, Fla. Mariotts. So not place the ad if you are not looking for someone in that position.

It gets especially frustrating because I am trying to come off of SSI and make my was on my own and many of these companies do not take their ads off of the market or advertise one job when looking to get something completely different. It seems that those who want to work can't get a job and those who have jobs complain about them. What a system

I just may be the droid you are looking for.

One of the most frustrating things is that employers will keep "old" positions listed in the open market, just to see "who is out there." Grrr.

That's really frustrating Jeffry! Sometimes there is a disconnect between the websites and job board ads. Some sites may be holding on to old job postings that the company doesn't actually need anymore. One thing that could be helpful when you see an ad is to call the company and double check the position is still open. Be specific about where you saw the ad so they can take care of things if it isn't.
