Thank you!

Thanks to all for the job ideas. I no longer live in CO but southern NJ near the BEACH! I have been on six interviews but sadly did not get any of the jobs. All gave me great feedback. However, often in NJ you need an "in." One principle even told me that the Director of Special Education had someone picked out. Another , after a group interview said, "Well ,we RIFed ( reduction in force) three people last year so they get first pick. The districts are required by law to interview and publicly post the job. I am an amazing special ed. teacher with over ten years experience . That too is working against me. When I look at the Board meeting minutes they ALWAYS hire someone with little or no experience ( they don't cost as much as me!) So frustrating! I will not give up because I know this is my calling and that there is a child out there that is waiting for me to help them. Again ,thanks to all for your support. I share the frustration of "older workers" that are not valued in this country. For eight years , I watched as new teacher after new teacher was hired and then left the next year! Could not handle the job! They finally hired a "mature" woman and she is excellent . Still there after three years of really hard work. Anyone else out there feeling this way?
