Get Off Your Butts!!!!!

I really like my job as a nurse and work in a pretty good hospital. Plus I think I'm pretty good at what i do. But i have the LAZIEST coworkers ever! They are constantly just messing around, taking super long lunch breaks, and just not getting anything done. I am SO SICK of it! Most of these other nurses have been here for 5 or more years, so nothings gonna change. Should I quit this job so I don't have to put up with this anymore?

Ego can be a very big issue with some people, If your the only one. Patting yourself on the back that's a issue, it sound like your new in your field. of work ,so new eyes can see nothing but badness in other.

Attractive! and you Love your job! Correct? So don't let those TURKIES get you down! Teach them a lesson or two, First let them know your not a Quitter! Your their at your job until, death do us part, Retirement! Wow! that's what I'm talking about! Big Smile! Second your Great at what you do, your assigned work maybe a little extra that's up to you? I'm sure the head nurse knows who works and who slacks off! If you want to make friends ask your co-workers if they can use some extra help with their work! who knows maybe this might spark up some energy within them to start doing their jobs, who knows maybe after work you can go out for drinks, food or both! Best of Luck! Robert

This matter should get some strong documentation, and once the documentation is secured make an appointment to have your supervisor look over the situation. You can just walk away from the problem, you have done your job. And make sure that you are doing your job, you are also being watched. If there are no results then go see your manager's manager. The documentation is your ammunition. If nothing gets done, then by all means start looking for a new employer.

Whether you work in a hospital or nursing facility, there Will Always Be Worthless teamembers. Realizing this plan your strategy accordingly to succeed w/o their contribution. In only an LVN, but I do have the benefit of leadership in extreme circumstances; Marine Corps during hostilities/wartime. Anyway my point you're still a nurse , Get the job done by any means ! This is how things are accomplished! Those non-hackers will bilge out eventually. Its inevitable.

Some people are who they are because they don't have a passion for whatever it is that they do because they're just doing it as a job. But when you love what you do it goes deeper than that, although it can be frustrating at times but I don't think that you should quit your job because other people don't want to do the right thing, because I can assure you that whatever you are seeing at the job your at you'll definitely run into the same problems at another job

Counselor (License- Eligible)

"Words Are Like Arrows; they pierce deep" was a saying I heard years ago Nurse and never forgot it in times that trigger it to come to the forefront of my consciousness.

Just because some co-workers and other people appear "lazy" to any of us on the job doesn't mean that they are. That is your own assessment of your co-workers. It is critical and rather harsh in my view especially for someone who is called to be a caregiver. Have you lost your compassion because it can happen over time if you don't take care of yourself too.

I believe many workers are suffering. Yes, that is true. Some people are going through a serious chronic illness they are hiding; some can't pay their rent or mortgage and are in jeopardy of losing the roof over their heads.

While others are going through a divorce or are dealing with someone using too much alcohol or drug addicted.

It is not anyone's place to judge people. I did that for years! Who are we to put down people when we don't even know what they are struggling with?

It is wrong to criticize or to knock down others. It is not your right; but people do it daily. That doesn't make the world better, or even a more positive place.

We should be kinder to people. Try it one day and see if anyone's attitude suddenly turns around.

Some people have very high demands; but, we still do not have the right to tell others how to work like you; how to have higher standards like you have. Each of us learned these traits. Some had it easier and gained wisdom. Be a good leader who shows compassion; rather than negative or even arrogant assessments.

It is researched that when we apply positive reinforcement to people who don't behave correctly (i.e in this research, it is about children who suffer from S.E.D. (serious emotional disturbances) at school) and misbehave all the time) the research proves that applying positive reinforcement rather than negative punishment will work best!

Don't believe me; read up on it. Just google it....be safe out there

My opinion is that if this is something that is really bothering you, and nobody is doing anything about it, you need to start getting your resume out to other reputable hospitals. The fact that this is allowed to happen, and you are just supposed to compensate for it , is inexcusable. The administrators or supervisors should already know about this if it has been going on for some time. They obviously do not value YOU to let this go on. You spend a good portion of your waking hours at a job; you should not be having this much stress to deal with. Move on, but be smart about it. Good luck.

Everyone has their own opinion of things and name calling is harsh! I think you just need to worry about yourself and doing your own job.
