I was contacted by a Director of HR for a position in supply chain, which is my background. After speaking with me, he said that he would get back to me the next week and that there were perhaps other positions in the company which could be an opportunity for me. A week passed and I didn't hear from him. I sent him an email to find out the status of our conversation and then he told me that there were matches for my background. I was disappointed and dumbfounded. Then, two days later, I get a job alert from the same company telling me to apply for the following position because they match my background. and of course, some of the positions listed are the positions that was discussed with the HR Director. What is this? Why am I a match on paper and then after a couple of days, I'm not qualified. I have two master's degrees and several years of experience and am very articulate.

I was too refused a application cause I had no degree. But I have the experience and then some and it would not proceed anywhere.

Hi Younis: I'm so sorry to hear you've been given the runaround! It sounds like the HR director miscommunicated something or was just confused. I would give the HR director another call to discuss what you can contribute to the company. If you're still given the runaround, I'd start applying to other companies who appreciate your great experience!
".....told me that there were matches for my background. " I don't understand.
