I was fired because I called a co-worker b*tch and this violated the respect in the workplace policy- never mind that said co-worker had been harassing me for six months and violated federal law! I made my supervisors aware of this, and still had to work with the co-worker; until I had reached the end of my "rope". On top of that the employer appealed my unemployment claim and won, and at my age no-one wants to hire me. What can I do?

There is hope still out there. I do not say calling the person the word you did was a good idea. I kill with kindness. Life is crazy. Also try to work the chain of command next time. Best of luck. Do not give up.

Been there. Had toxic coworker who got me fired despite advising boss of harassment.

No time to despair! I took the liberty of looking at your profile, and it is bare! You need to flesh it out, which means listing your "wide variety of experience and interests" for the last ten years. That's right, tell us about your experience as dog trainer, "management, sales, merchandising, purchasing, and bookkeeping" experience. If you don't list it, nobody will believe you. Mention everything you've for the last decade, as employers want to know how great an "employee, partner, and owner of various retail and service concerns" you are.

I had a similar experience now I'm packing my thing to leave my house and wandering wear I'm going to end up

They're many jobs out there right now - you'll find something else. The hardest part of the workforce is dealing with the people, especially women, ...no matter how much you try - there is always a bad apple in the bunch. I'm sure you'll find a job....good luck...I ran into same...I just ignore them. If you worked there 90 days they have to give u unemployment. Good Luck

This State needs Unions

Hr will always support the company vs the employee

I am in a similar situation. I have brought it up to HR, the operations manager the production manager and my direct supervisor. We will see what happens. The person in question happens to be a team leader from a different area than mine. But bullying is bullying.

don't give up... fight, i'm in the same situation, many people suffering from the same shit like you, harassment and nepotism and favoritism in workplace shouldn't exist... Sincerely. Dorota.
Hi Cheryl, So sorry you are dealing with this not to mention scarry, the idea that you reported the hostile situation to your supervisor and it was ignored isnt good. I cant imangine having to face a person that is making your life miserable. In a perfect world, you would leave and find a different job. But in a work environment and there are processing papers, law firms, corporate offices that bring people on board and expect that people will be cooperative. Not all the time, so you get good pay, job is decent, except a co worker has made a negative remark, mis judged an action, said something inflamaory, that staes an obvious and intentional means to cause hurt, shame, embarrassment. Please leave, the culture is unhealthy. As persons are allowed to be bad players the environment is going to be toxic
