Between a rock and hell

I have a felony possession charge from 11 years ago in Indiana. I am a machinist/ factory worker. I can't get a job for an addiction problem I had over 11 years ago. I have been clean for 11 years. That conviction changed my life. The attorney fees for expungement is so high I can't afford it without a job. Any suggestions? Can I file for expungement myself? I am literally a single parent and I'm sinking fast

Congratulations on your sobriety, 11 years is huge! I suggest you check to see if you can utilize legal services instead of an attorney to assist you. It is allowed in some states and can be less expensive then an attorney. Also, most attorneys have a free consult where they can tell you what is required. He or she may work with you to make payments. I would research online what your legal options are. If you are in a recovery program still like AA or NA, you may want to ask around if others have had a similar issue and what they did. Good luck!
