Change or not change
Hello. I wrote a little while back. I just want to say thanks for all your input. Now I have another question. I have MANY years of medical experience on my resume, should I change my cover to state my switching careers? And also, how do I word it, which paragraph.? How can I emphasize the fact I have past administrative experience.l? Thank you all again for your help.

Jennifer, Within many positions; I think that it is most positions, there are areas of overlapping responsibilities and duties; what you want to do is to emphasize those transferrable skills you possess and have perfected in your previous jobs. If you utilize either a functional or combination functional chronographic style resume you can further highlight those skillsets that you possess which you are seeking to utilize in another position. Use a Cover Letter to further amplify upon those skillsets and make it clear that you are interested in utilizing your expertise in a new career. The key is to focus upon the skills and functions of the position rather than specifically the title of that new positon.
Good Luck. Keith

Just tailer your cover letter. If a job is truly interested and view your resume. They will see your qualifications and most probably ask you. If they choose you for an interview, that's a question, that usually comes up. If not, find a way to blend it I'm to the interview. This could be a phone or face to face interview. I have had a health recruiter ask me that very same question via e-mail. You will be fine.

Hi Jennifer: In your cover letter, you should first show your interest in the administrative position. Then acknowledge that you do have medical experience and how those skills can help you in the Administrative position that you want. In regards to your resume, I agree with Antonia to gear your resume towards the job description, but use some of the medical positions that included administrative duties.

Tailor the resume to the job. If you're looking for admin work, then consider putting it in the highlights of your qualifications.
List the employers, but downplay the medical part of the duties and bring the administrative ones to the forefront.
As for wanting to switch careers, mention it in your cover letter that you're seeking a new challenge.
Hi Jennifer, What matters the most in ur resume I'd u don't have a gap in ur career path n u r able to provide references from ur employers. The resume should be according to the job u r applying for as most of other repliers have told u.You should be mentioning all the employers but the related one in detail...n look for one thing what job is going to be more stable n long lasting for u..where there r chances of more career growth..so instead of wasting time n changing jobs work this thing out first..rest will be ok..all the very best....
